I had so much to say…

I'm stuck on a really slow connection which is taking forever to upload the pictures that were supposed to go with the posts that I wanted to write. So they'll have to wait. In the meantime, a visit to the comics shop and a chat with the ever-charming Mr Kane reminded me that I had meant to link to his post about the upcoming Serge Gainsbourg biopic. Just looking at the pictures suggests that the cast will look perfect, and I'm really interested that Joann Sfar is taking on directorial duties (although I hope that doesn't mean waiting forever for the second volume of Klezmer to come out).

Will told me that since posting about it on his blog, he'd found out more about the project, and that it's not going to be a traditional straight-foward biopic, but far more Felliniesque in nature, and that the people behind the special effects on Pan's Labyrinth will be doing the special effects on this one. I was already excited before, but now I can't wait!

We got chatting a bit about other interesting films made with musicians. I remembered that the Scott Walker biopic 30 Century Man is still on my "must watch" list, and recommended Movin' With Nancy (some screengrabs here, which seems very unrepresented online, so it's going on my list of things to blog about, because it's actually pretty special. But right now, my favourite cafe is closing and it's time for me to get some crimbo shopping done and head off to le pub for the Phonogram series two launch party.

So in the meantime, I'll leave you with this snippet, Nancy and Lee performing Jackson about halfway through the show:

It seems quite appropriate, as it always makes me want to dance, and that's just what the first issue of the new Phonogram series is all about!
