The Carbuncle Cup, award for the worst new building | Building Design – The longlist for 2009's Carbuncle Cup. What stands out about most of the entries is how the buildings themselves stand out, as in almost none of them work sympathetically with their environs (some aren't actually terrible buildings in themselves). Also, the "Nissen huts of nihilism!" comment made me laugh out loud. [via Own Hatherley]
