allotment redux

Did I mention the banks of forget-me-nots last time? Have moar photos:

plots

apple blossom

two favourites

lobster shed

And, having read this article on the decline of butterfly populations, I'm even more pleased that during last week's visit to the allotment we saw so many different varieties. It means there's hope yet.

We went down to Mrs H's folks in Sussex last weekend and saw one of these. Apparently they are 'widespread', but I've never seen one before and was quite excited; but then, it doesn't take much.

What lovely things you have here – I shall be back! x

Ah, yes, we saw Orange Tips at the allotment, as I mentioned in my previous post:

    They're lovely!

    (And thank you!)

Buddleia, that invasive tree that grows out of every impossible nook and cranny is excellent for butterflies. I have one large one in the garden that is an pretty insect magnet. Butterflies and bees need all the help they can get!!!

Yeah, I love buddleia, although you only tend to see it on brick buildings. All these modern glass and metal edifices wot need some lush green don't get it… :)
